Nobody cares about the Lions.
By PhilipJ-E-T-S! Jets! Jets! Jets!
Pretty slammin' win against the Tits.
Re: Nobody cares about the Lions.
By PhilipLet's face it. It's not happening any time soon. I actually know nothing about the Lions. Apart from apparently they have the second worse Defense in the NFL.
You guys are ridiculous
By MichaelThe Lions have probably got two of the best receivers in the league. That's about it...
The fact that Phil has got a Favre shirt is ridiculous enough, nevermind the fact that it's NOT a Packers Favre jersey. But oh well.
As for you CD... Wanting to support the Steelers? The ONLY other Pennsylvania franchise... One of the Eagles' most hated rivals... Your sense of loyalty is shocking. Jump on a REAL bandwagon.
GO JETS! GO JETS! GO JETS!
Also
By MichaelGiants haven't won yet. Watch out for Dallas (and the Bears obviously).
Bit worried for my dear
By Pats fan (not verified)Bit worried for my dear Patriots. We have a fairly easy run-in, but might have to settle for wildcard entry to the playoffs. Damn those Jets!
Cassel has been a revelation. Wonder where he'll end up next season?
Gloryhunters should be shot.
Lions perfect season!
By Pats fan (not verified)0-12! Phil, how can you possibly leave your team when they are on the verge of something epic?!!
An analogy
By PhilipAs much as I want the Hong Kong soccer team to win the World Cup, it would be pointless and boring for me if continued to support them when I know they definitely won't be in the group stages, let alone the knock-out stages of the competition. This is why I support teams that are not Hong Kong in the World Cup.
Swap Hong Kong for Detroit and the World Cup for the NFL.
Poor show
By Pats fan (not verified)But at the same time, you aren't going to support a rival to Hong Kong in the world cup, are you?
Once you have a team, thats you stuck with it. I could easily go to Celtic Park to watch football, and see a team playing good football with meaningful matches. But when i was young, i started supporting my local team, Stirling Albion. Now i go around Scotland watching utter shite second division crap. To match your world cup analogy, i could easily start supporting England without any fuss. But instead i have to put up with the massive swings from rampant joy and hope to despair, depression and, finally, acceptance - Scotland (probably) aren't going to win the world cup.
I know you don't have any reason to support the Lions, its not like you were born in Detroit or anything, but you got a choice of what team to support, and you chose lions. And now you would desert them for a team thats winning?
Poor show.
The Jets and the Lions are
By PhilipThe Jets and the Lions are hardly rivals. I can support both.
If you are 'supporting' the
By Pats fan (not verified)If you are 'supporting' the jets so the playoffs will have some meaning, then there is no problem. If they win, you can say 'oh good, i wanted them to win'.
But you can't properly celebrate it. And you need to go back to the Lions next season.
I'd tell you to support the Patriots, but we don't want no turncoats.
